A Bit About Me...

My Animal Care

Based in North-London I am a qualified, registered Veterinary Nurse who has your pet’s best interests in mind and at heart. I want to make sure your pet is happy, loved, medically cared for where necessary and feels safe at home with me in my home:

  • I have my own house with a large, secure, risk-free garden that the dogs have full access to. Rabbits and guinea pigs get their chance to have some supervised free time on the fresh grass
  • I have access to nearby parks and green spaces. The ones I walk on I have chosen due to their secure position and safe environment away from roads as well as taking cleanliness into consideration
  • I am fully insured, fully qualified, licensed (license number ANDOGS/18/58547) and experienced to treat your pet medically if needed, administer first aid, as well as general grooming and care
  • As a Veterinary Nurse I am competant to administer any type of medication your pet may need e.g. insulin, and medically understand their condition in order to supply tailored care for your pet
  • Experienced in puppy training and behaviour, will continue your training while you are away and have plenty advice to give and techniques to use in a one-on-one training session with your family and dog
  • FREE Meet & Greet at my home to assure your pet is happy before your booking
  • I have the support from a Veterinary Team that will gladly assist me immediately in any emergency.

I have a lovely client base of wonderful dogs, rabbits, guinea-pigs and other small furry animals that come to me regularly. Booking early is essential.

My Professional Career

I have always loved animals which led me to the veterinary industry. I have been nursing for over 12 years and am a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). Three years into my career I became the head nurse of a large busy North-London practice. I really enjoyed my time there and met so many lovely animals and their owners. As well as managing the practice, being responsible for X-Rays and anaesthetics, assisting in surgery, training staff and trainee nurses and overseeing the expected high level of animal care, I also took a keen interest in dog behaviour and training. I ran the practice’s successful puppy socialisation, training basic and advice classes, informing new owners of the best care for their pets. I have been the go-to nurse for rabbit and guinea pig care, due to the large amount of experience I have had and my love for them. As my family began to grow, I took the decision to venture out on my own.

My Love for Animals Started a LONG Time Ago…

Every career counsellor and teacher that asked what I wanted to do when I grew up, got the same answer: “I want to work with animals”. From around the age of 7, I became the local go- to person to rehabilitate young, orphaned, hurt or abandoned animals, with the assistance and support from my local Vet. By the age of 10 I had raised and released a baby dove, raised a baby chicken and rested, fed and released plenty injured birds. I hand reared many baby bunnies, raised 3 guinea fowl, and lastly still had rats as pets and our family dogs. I bought my own dog at the age of 16, a Dalmatian. While I was volunteering at the SPCA, two 6 month old Dalmation puppies were found on the streets, both malnourished and ill. My family adopted them, and then there were three! My first dog training success was teaching them to pick up and carry their food bowls to the kitchen for their dinner!

Volunteer Work

I volunteered at our local SPCA which I still donate to now. I loved it. I assisted the surgical teams with neutering dogs and cats 3 days a week, and met some amazing vets and nurses who gave their free time to the SPCA. Some days I would work with the kennel hands helping to feed and clean the kennels of the dogs to be rehomed. I assisted for a short stint at the SPCA horse-care unit. I was lucky enough to go out into rural towns assisting SPCA teams in treating and feeding the rural dogs and teaching their owners how to care for them. I loved the work they did and how they gave their time to animals. I volunteered at C.R.O.W. (Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlilfe) assisting in feeding hurt birds to release once they were well enough.

My Own Pets

In the last 13 years while working full time as a Vet Nurse, apart from looking after many gorgeous pets, I rehomed a Lop bunny, Flopsy, with medical problems, a guinea pig, Gipney, who I rehomed as a stray, a second guinea pig named Miss Piggy (CLICK-HERE to see a video of her ) to keep Gipney company, and two chickens who I’ve raised since they were 3 days old, which are still with me today. Salt and Pepper provide us with delicious fresh eggs most days!
