Terms and Conditions – Lauren’s Pet Services
Thank you for choosing Lauren’s Pet Services to care for your pet.
Please read the T’s & C’s. Once your booking is made with Lauren’s Pet Services, it is taken that these T’s & C’s have been read and are accepted by the owner of the pet (owner must be of age 18 or over).
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me, no matter how big or small your concern may be.
Policy definitions:
- “You/ client/ your/ owner” refer to the adult older than 18 years of age who is financially responsible for the pet that will be in Lauren’s care
- “I/ Lauren/ myself/ her/ my/ home” refer to Lauren, or her property, the owner of Lauren’s Pet Services
- “Injury/ incident/ accident” means accidental bodily injury, illness, disease or accidental death
- “Walk” includes the walk at the park/field/woods, the walk on the way there and on the way back, the walk to and from the transport vehicle, as well as the transportation vehicle journey.
Bookings:
- Bookings are subject to these T’s & C’s. Variations to these T’s & C’s may be updated without notice
- At a Meet & Greet or any other time when entering Lauren’s home, you (and anybody else accompanying you) enter the property and house entirely at your own risk. Lauren’s Pet Services or her person is not liable for any incident, damage to your property or personal injury while you are on her property
- The client agrees on booking that their dog or rabbit will be up to date with vaccinations (including Kennel cough for dogs), and that their pet is up to date with flea and worming treatment
- If your pet has an illness whether zoonotic (transfers between humans and animals) and/or contagious (transfers between animals), Lauren’s Pet Services holds the right to decline the booking if felt your pet may be of risk to others in her home at the time
- If your pet has an illness that is not under control at the first date of the booking, Lauren has the right to decline the booking
- Please book pet sitting at least 4 months in advance to ensure availability
- The client agrees on booking that they have disclosed any behaviour, characteristic and/or quality that may make your pet not suited for home boarding or walking, including behavioural and health problems, antisocial behaviour, including aggression, incontinence or lack of house training and excessive loud barking. Lauren’s Pet Services has the right to decline the booking on this information if felt your pet is not suited to her home environment. Lauren has the right to terminate a booking after the start date if it is shown that this information has not been disclosed and your pet is not suited to her home environment
- Lauren reserves the right to decline a booking if your dog is not neutered as this can create a negative atmosphere between neutered and unneutered dogs, as well as the threats to health that walking off lead can result in and the issue of mating. If this information is incorrectly disclosed and/or any situation arises due to your pet not being neutered, you are liable for the injury, incident or accident caused to your pet, another pet (in my care or not), person or property
- You must inform Lauren of the veterinary practice, pet insurance company you are registered with and policy number (for dogs) in case of an emergency. It is recommended to advise your Vet of my details in case of such an emergency. Lauren has the right to decline a booking if your dog is not insured
- Lauren reserves the right to terminate a booking after the start date if it is shown that the dog does not respond well to other dogs in her care. This decision will not be taken lightly.
Animal care:
- For dogs, the client is to supply food, a lead and collar and harness where necessary. Lauren provides bedding, toys, treats and bowls
- For rabbits and rodents, owner is to supply dry food, dry snacks where applicable and supply cage/ enclosure where necessary. Lauren provides cages if available, water bottles if necessary, bowls, fresh hay, fresh vegetables/ fruit, litter trays and bedding
- Clients agree to their dog being socialised with the other dogs in the care of Lauren
- Clients agree for their dog to be fed in the same room as other dogs
- Clients agree dog walking off-lead is at owner’s risk outside of the home environment. Dogs will be walked on a lead until Lauren feels it is safe to walk off-lead
- Clients agree for their dog to board and walk with other dogs
- Clients agree for multiple dogs from the same household to share a designated room
- Clients agree for their dog to be crated if this maintains their usual home routine and if the dog is already habituated to it
- Clients agree to inform Lauren of any changes regarding your personal contact information, your pet’s care needs or medical conditions or ongoing and recent illnesses and any other pertinent information
- If it becomes necessary for your pet to visit a vet and if the client is not contactable your pet will be taken to a Veterinary Practice of Lauren’s choice unless you have specified another Veterinary Practice beforehand, for an initial consultation. If further treatment is necessary and the client is still unavailable, Lauren has the right to accept the treatment on your behalf if she feels the treatment is urgent. The client agrees to fees incurred unless Lauren’s Pet Services accepts liability
- Any property left in the care of Lauren’s Pet Services is done so at your own risk
- While Lauren will make every effort to keep your pet safe and well, if your pet becomes ill or has an accident/ injury while in the care of Lauren, she cannot be held liable unless she accepts the fault is hers
- Clients agree to accept liability to any damage, incident or injury caused by their dog in Lauren’s home as well as on the walk
- In the event that additional items need to be purchased in the absence of the client (i.e. pet food, medications or other necessary items that contribute to the health and wellbeing of your pet) Lauren will purchase these, retain a receipt and the pet owner is responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return
- Lauren’s family members or close friends may assist in the care of the pet in her home and join Lauren in the care of your dog whilst walking. Your dog will not be walked by anyone other than Lauren except under exceptional circumstances and where Lauren has informed you of the change
- I may leave your dog for 0-2 hours in usual circumstances. No dog will be left longer than 4 hours alone except in unforeseen circumstances, or previously agreed with you
- If Lauren is delayed in returning to her home where your pet is, she may ask the assistance of a close friend to check in on your pet, and/or sit with your pet until she returns home
- Lauren will apply personal judgment to cut a dog walk short and/or to not walk at times of high heat, heavy downpours or thunderstorms for the safety of the dogs and herself.
Payments:
- Lauren’s Pet Services accepts cash and bank transfer. Please request bank details. Rates are very competitive and discounts are given for 2 weeks or more continuous care. Please understand rates are not negotiable. An invoice will be supplied on request.
- Depending on arrival/ departure times, charges are applied from the day your pet arrives to the day your pet leaves, for example, a booking from AM Saturday to PM the following Saturday will count as 7 full “day and night” charges plus one “day” charge.
- For any stays longer than 4 days, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the full amount is required to reserve your booking due to regular high demand. In exceptional circumstances, a refund may be given.
- The remainder of the payment may be requested to be paid before or on the first date of the booking, otherwise the payment will need to be made, at most, 3 days after the booking has ended.
Data Protection:
- Personal data received about you and your pet is used for Lauren’s Pet Services only and not passed on to any third party. This information is only used for purposes relating directly to the care of your pet, for me to contact you, or for use at a veterinary clinic/ hospital in an emergency situation. The data is encryted and stored securely at her home. As per regulations, if there is a data breach for any reason, you will be informed as soon as this becomes known to Lauren.
Additional terms:
- Unless otherwise stated, the client agrees for their pet’s photos and/or videos to be posted on social media and Lauren’s Pet Service’s website
Clients accept that when Lauren enters your home, she does so at your risk. Any injury to her or you, damage to yours or her property or incident in your home is at your risk. She cannot be held responsible for an injury to any persons or pet and incident by any persons or pet and damage to property on your property.
All pets are promised to be treated like my own and welcomed into my home with cuddles and TLC!
